An IHBC conference exploring characterisation and its role in regeneration and development
The concept of an all-encompassing methodology for understanding place has been around for a long time but was not given a name until relatively recently - characterisation. This conference seeks to build on the valuable work done to date and answer questions such as; what are its practical applications? and how has it helped inform development in sensitive areas?
Organised by the South West branch of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, this one-day event will be of value to all practitioners who are involved in taking decisions within and shaping the historic environment.
It also offers a unique opportunity to see this urban regeneration icon, the Grade I listed church of St Pauls, in use by its resident circus school.
