How do we improve the supply of housing?
• Government initiatives include the release of public sector land (the role
of the HCA* and Mayor of London), brownfield land register and planning
in principle. *36,000 homes in this Parliament
• Government ‘involvement’ in the delivery of new homes (for example at
Northstowe and Ebbsfleet)
• Creation of new housing companies
• Intensification of urban areas around our transport hubs
• Locally-Led Garden Villages, Towns and Cities prospectus – 1,500 to
10,000 homes each (minimum of 12)
