Malcolm Payne Group has been engaged in promoting the conservation and beneficial use of heritage assets over the forty-five-year life of the practice.

The overriding objective is to ensure a sustainable future for historic buildings and. where new development is appropriate, to carefully integrate the scheme into the historic environment.

The approach to conservation has been two-fold. As architects, the Group has designed schemes for the restoration and conversion of a variety of historic buildings that have benefited from the grant of planning permission and listed building consent. Many such projects have been seen through the technical design and construction process to completion.

As conservation consultants the Group has undertaken appraisals of'the significance of heritage assets. both designated and unclesignated. and assessed the impact of proposed new development on conservation areas. listed buildings and their settings.
