DIGITAL HERITAGE

Digital technologies are here to stay for historic buildings, but are often misunderstood and underused. There is great potential to use innovative digital application for the surveying, recording, refurbishment and interpretation of heritage assets. This conference will highlight examples of best practice to allow you to conserve and present your historic environment more effectively. Case studies will be presented from the public and private sectors and the conference will be of interest to conservation and heritage specialists, architects, planners and surveyors.
VENUE

The conference will be held in The Co-operative Group’s new head office in Manchester, 1 Angel Square. At 500,000sq.ft, it is the largest commercial office building in Manchester and the highest scoring BREEAM 'Outstanding' office in the UK, setting a new national benchmark in sustainable design within the commercial sector.

Manchester is also the ideal location for this conference as a prime mover in the digital world. The city that gave birth to the Industrial Revolution and also produced the world’s first real computer (‘the Baby’ in 1948) now has ambitious aims to become one of the leading digital cities in the world.
