The CONTEXT on-line Archive

CONTEXT is the member's journal of the Institution of Historic Building Conservation. It is published five times annually and is distributed free to all members of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. Since its inception, in February 1983, it provides news and views on all aspects of building conservation with regular articles by the foremost protagonists in the field.

The latest issues of CONTEXT will not be added for six months after publication. So if you want to keep up with the current editions a subscription is necessary, follow the link for details of subscriptions for non-members.

The archive is searchable by keyword for ease of research. This will produce a list of details of entries matching your query, with links to follow direct to the corresponding articles in the Archive.

You should be aware that building and planning regulations change frequently and are subject to constant minor amendment.  The most recent legislation can be obtained from The Stationery Office (0870 6005522) which has a searchable database here. The safest thing is always to seek professional help.
